WHAT WE DO

Atlantic Climbing School is a full service climbing guide service based in Acadia National Park. Since 1994, ACS has specialized in small, custom guided and instructional courses on rock, ice and snow. These small courses are ideal for individuals, couples, families, and groups. With our focused curriculum, at ACS we orchestrate climbing courses that routinely exceed our client’s expectations.

 

Experience curriculum

These private courses are by far our most popular program. Ideal for all ages and ability levels. Perfect for anyone who is looking to add some adventure to their time in Acadia or Camden. Available in full-day (8 hours) and half-day (4 hours) format, seven days a week! Perfect for individuals, couples, families and groups!

Instruction curriculum

Looking for in-depth rock climbing or ice climbing instruction? These courses are designed for those who are prepared to roll up their sleeves and learn. You will walk away from this course with a deeper understanding around the specific skills you want to learn, such as placing gear, anchor building, or rescue skills.

Each of them worked through various levels of fear, excitement, and nervousness — by the end of it, they were rappelling, applying movement techniques, and feeling more confident on the rope! 💪 On days like this, we are always so honored that you trust us to be a part of all the emotions and vulnerable moments that climbing can bring out… it can feel so empowering when you realize how capable you are. Read his description below 👇 “Pressure Drop” is a beautiful friction climb that leads to a bomber crack that thins gradually, culminating in a short, bouldery sequence that establishes you below the overlap. I chose to lean out left to clip a lone bolt (technically, there to protect High Plains Drifter, but given the FFA’s description on Mountain Project, I personally felt this was acceptable…decide for yourselves) with a long runner before pulling through the short, burly overhang. 🔩 BEFORE & AFTER 🔩 of bolts and drilled holes across Otter Cliffs A month ago, we learned about the unnecessary addition of bolts and drilled holes at Otter without permission by the park service and without knowledge of the local ecosystem and ethics around environmental conservation. It took several weeks of back and forth to receive permission to fix this, but the bolts are now removed and holes are patched. Swipe ➡️ to see before and afters.
